Thanks to my sister in law and the LA Times for teaching me about the latest emerging cottage industry: artisanal pencil sharpening. What will the effete Blue-State bourgeoisie think up next?

    I love that the first two comments on this post highlight the two most opposite aspects of the artisanal pencil concept: (1) the human instinct to make brilliant art out of any random crap in one's environment and (2) the human instinct to believe that any random crap in one's environment is brilliant art.
